Appearance
The style of the 2021 Civic Type R has a sporty hatchback vibe. This is defined by a short, tapered nose with an aggressive air intake feature in the hood. It also has a rounded hood that trends into a large spoiler. The nose has an aggressive bumper with a black grille and air vents. The multi-elemental headlights have a sharp angle for an extra touch of athleticism. In comparison, the updated 2023 Civic Type R has stronger tapering down the rear windshield and a longer hood that cascades into the redesigned grille. It continues to have black features on the nose, but its lower-front air vents have been flawlessly restyled. The headlights also have a new look with a pair of rectangular light beams shining through the portals.
