2022 Honda Civic Sedan vs 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback
Serving Mt. Juliet, TN
The Civic has confidently held its position in the Honda lineup for several decades. For 2022, it introduces its 11th generation with brilliant updates from end to end. It continues to be available in several trim levels for both the sedan and hatchback body styles. While the two body styles are notably similar in exciting ways, there are essential differences that could sway your final selection. Our Music City Honda sales agents are available to support your comparisons of the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback and sedan body styles.
Performance
The base trim level for both body styles is the LX. It receives 158 horsepower from a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine, and a continuously variable transmission. The Sport trim is the next option available for both body styles. The Civic Sport is offered with a six-speed manual transmission in the hatchback body style. You will reach the Civic EX sedan and the Civic EX-L hatchback as you continue up the lineups. These are offered with a 180-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The next trims available are the Civic Touring sedan and the Civic Sport Touring hatchback. These are both offered with the same turbocharged engine. However, the Sport Touring trim is available with your choice of a six-speed manual transmission. The sedan body style is also offered in the Si trim level, and it comes with a 200-horsepower, turbo 1.5-liter engine with a manual transmission.
Appearance
The Honda Civic Hatchback has a four-door body style, and it is visually similar to the Civic Sedan in most ways. Both models have the same front-end design with a thin grille that links to the LED-accented headlights. The lower-front fascia is segmented into three parts for an aggressive look. On the sides, the sedan and hatchback have a molded element on the lower panels and a pair of angled accents. The primary difference between these models is at the rear. The sedan has a defined trunk area, and select trims have a lid-mounted spoiler. The hatchback body style has a stretched liftgate. While they have a similar taillight design, the hatchback’s taillights are slightly more athletic with sharper accents.
Features
The Civic Hatchback and the Civic Sedan have matching interior features across their corresponding trim levels. Some of these include power-adjusting front seats, a 9-inch infotainment system screen, a standard or premium Bose audio system, smart device integration, wireless device charging, leather upholstery, a sunroof, and more. Honda Sensing® features are found in both body styles. Some of these are blind-spot monitoring, a driver attention monitor, lane-keep assist, low-speed auto braking, and other assistive driver’s aids.
The appeal of the Honda Civic has been enhanced for the all-new 11th generation, and our Music City Honda associates are excited to show off the changes to you.
